Job overview
Applications are invited for three twelve months fellowship posts in Neuro-ophthalmology and Strabismus in one of the largest provincial ophthalmic units in the UK. This post is to commence the 1st week of August 2025.

The fellowship is based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. The Neuro-ophthalmology firm has 3 consultant ophthalmologists - Mr. Vishwanath, Mr. Yagan, and Miss Littlewood, in addition to a consultant neurologist - Dr. Zermansky. The unit is supported by a large orthoptic department headed by Mrs. Veronica Greenwood, and an electrophysiology department headed by Professor Neil Parry.
Main duties of the job
The Fellow will participate in outpatient clinics undertaking diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients under the care of the Consultants. He or she will undertake surgery both under supervision and, where appropriate, unsupervised. The Fellow attends outpatient clinic sessions and dedicated operating sessions under the direction of the Consultant trainers.

Person specification
Qualifications and Training
* Medical Degree
* Completed post-graduate training and obtained post-graduate qualification in ophthalmology and experience needed for supervising other trainees in the emergency department, alongside a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty
* Ability to see eye casualty patients independently and willingness to participate in general on-call if needed
