We’re looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our team at Central House in Knowsley and build their skill in administering the vetting process. The successful candidate will be able to work at a high pace and be ready to embrace change as the team develop their service offering to deliver employee screening activity and transition to a new software solution. The hours are flexible across a full-time working pattern and it’s a great opportunity for the right person to develop their career as part of the Serco HR team. You will be responsible for first line security vetting/employee screening advice, collating, and managing vetting records and archives, databases and documents whilst providing a great experience to employees using the service. Responsibilities include: Processing of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearances for divisional staff and sub-contractors, including Disclosure Scotland (DS). Processing United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) clearances for UK staff and contractors. Dealing with enquiries and reviews, making sure that employees and contractors hold the correct level of clearance for the work they are/will be involved in and sites they will work at or visit. Liaising with internal and external contacts, company Security Controllers and external agencies, such as United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and Disclosure Scotland (DS) Verifying identification documents. Obtaining personal and employer references to meet screening requirements. Checking the employee’s paperwork and data submissions prior to processing to avoid delays with suppliers and external agents. Updating relevant databases associated with the vetting/screening level. Review security clearances to make sure they are renewed prior to their expiry date and that aftercare processes are undertaken including annual security appraisal forms, change of domestic circumstances, leavers and transfers. Resolving queries and providing assistance to internal and external stakeholders, including HR, Serco Contract Managers, external company security contacts and external organisations You will have excellent communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders and customers at all levels. A deep understanding of the need for confidentiality, coupled with a logical and common sense approach to tasks are essential requirements of the role.
