We are looking to appoint an experienced Behaviour Support Specialist to join our friendly and supportive team. This would suit a current Behaviour Support Specialist or senior level very experienced HLTA who is looking for their next challenge. This may also be suitable for someone who is wanting to explore and specialise in a special educational setting. This role would suit colleagues from a range of educational backgrounds including mainstream and specialist settings. Our school is now in its second academic year and is growing rapidly. As a result we have now created this additional vacancy.
Odyssey House School is an exciting special school setting, aiming to provide the highest quality education to students with special educational needs. The school caters for a range of special education needs, primarily high-functioning autism, anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). All students will be able to follow a differentiated National Curriculum, with the aim of achieving a range of recognised qualifications at Key Stage 4 and 5 including Entry Level, Functional Skills and GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications.

The school’s premises have been designed specifically to meet the needs of neurodiverse children as well as providing an amazing work environment, where staff will benefit from excellent facilities of the highest quality, allowing exceptional education to be delivered to students.
Staff and students will benefit from small class sizes, dedicated library, reading booths, student focus area, sensory room, staff well-being lounge and work area. Our curriculum is delivered through our specialist classrooms including;
Food Technology classroom, Art classroom, Science Lab, Therapies suite and our multi function Assembly/PE/Dining space.

Qualifications and requirements:
* Level 4 GCSE Maths & English with additional qualifications in a relevant field
* Proven educational experience
* Strong desire to work in a specialist setting
* Excellent communication skills
* Have basic knowledge of Autism (please note that training will be provided)
* Full UK driving licence (desirable)
