A highly reputable and well-established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in Southampton, Hampshire, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Food Technology to join their permanent staff team. The Role
The successful candidate will:
1. Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
2. Develop and deliver an engaging and ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
3. Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.
4. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
5. Manage resources effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department.
6. Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the values and ethos of the MAT.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. A degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject.
3. Proven experience of teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, with a track record of achieving excellent outcomes.
4. Experience in a leadership or management role, ideally within a Food Technology or Design & Technology department.
5. Strong curriculum knowledge and an understanding of current developments in Food Technology education.
6. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. A passion for inspiring young people and a commitment to ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
