We are looking to add to our fantastic team in the Boning Hall, so if you feel you have what we are looking for please get in touch. Our butchery team is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are keen to work in this area. Skilled or unskilled, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and learn new skills within a great working environment, where you will have the opportunity to rotate around a number of different jobs (after training) and become a multi-skilled operative.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all products are boned out/trimmed to meet customer/company specifications whilst also maximising yield and minimising waste.
2. Breakdown beef cuts to customer/company specification.
3. Learn and understand all cuts of the beef carcass.
4. Carry out all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly regarding health and safety and food safety.
5. Drive and deliver necessary processing efficiency through consistent and correct equipment operation.
6. Ensure strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes.
7. Follow traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times.
8. Work to the best of your ability to meet production deadlines.
9. Work as part of a team and take responsibility for your work.
10. Report to the Boning Hall supervisor any problems with equipment or machinery.
11. Any other reasonable duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
Knowledge and Experience:
Previous butchery experience in a food production environment is essential.
Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or willingness to learn in semi-skilled/trainee roles.
Skills:
Ability to work on own initiative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, start at 6.00am till finish, working on average 45 hours per week.
Pay:
Piece rate, payment range between £13-17 per hour based on skill level.
