Main duties of the job
We are looking to build a staff bank pool for Theatres and require practitioners with experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery:
1. To perform as a safe and competent clinical member of the team within their specific role, providing specialised holistic care for the peri-operative patient.
2. Contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and ensure that high quality standards are maintained and developed.
3. Maintain the highest level of safety for patients throughout the perioperative pathway by proactively engaging with all local policies and standard operating procedures linked to the National Safety Standards for Invasive Procedures (NatSSIPs) and local trust theatre safety standards.
4. Be responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
1. Previous perioperative experience working as either an anaesthetic, scrub or recovery practitioner.
2. Must have recent relevant experience.
3. Can demonstrate the ability to deliver high standards of care.
4. Evidence of continued professional development.
5. Can demonstrate the ability to solve problems and prioritise workloads.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability
1. Able to demonstrate that they work well within a team.
2. Able to maintain accurate patient records.
3. Basic IT skills.
4. Able to work with limited supervision.
5. Able to demonstrate self-motivation and the motivation of others.
6. Understanding of the need for change in the clinical setting due to strive for quality.
Work Related Circumstances
1. Good general health and attendance record.
2. Ability to cope with exposure to sometimes highly unpleasant working conditions/ body fluids/noxious fumes/ COSHH regulated substances.
3. Ability to work with an unpredictable workload and deal with traumatic situations should they arise.
Salary Details (Hourly Rate)
Night and Saturday £35.39
Sunday and Bank Holiday £43.56

Qualifications
* Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC/ HCPC.
* United Kingdom recognised qualification in Adult Nursing/Operating Department Practice.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation.
