We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. This position is based in the Ascot/Virginia Water area and offers a competitive rate, depending on experience. You will be responsible for supporting the accounts payable function and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Key Responsibilities: Process and match purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes. Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and comply with company policies. Prepare payment runs and ensure timely payment of suppliers. Handle supplier queries, resolve discrepancies, and build strong supplier relationships. Maintain accurate records of invoices and payments, ensuring proper filing and documentation. Assist in month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers. Work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the accounts payable function. Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required by the Finance Manager. The successful Accounts Payable Assistant will have/be: Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions. Good understanding of accounting principles and the purchase-to-pay cycle. Proficient in using accounting software (experience with [mention software if applicable] would be advantageous). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal teams and external suppliers. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently. A flexible and positive approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
