Key Responsibilities
You will join in this newly created role as a senior member of the bus reform leadership team with responsibility for the mobilisation and delivery of a high-profile portfolio of operationally-focused workstreams within South Yorkshire’s bus reform programme. You will ensure the robust management and oversight of significant revenue and capital budgets, acting as a visible and effective leader to ensure the delivery of bus reform in South Yorkshire, on time and on budget.
You will lead the approach to high value asset procurements and negotiations, setting out specifications, requirements and directing external advisors. You will ensure that the customer voice is clearly heard in the operational delivery of future bus services in South Yorkshire, designing an operating model and delivering key assets which meet the requirements of communities, stakeholders and transport providers. Key aspects of the future bus offer in South Yorkshire will be designed by you and the team you build including the approach to operational delivery, bus depots, fleets and decarbonisation.
The nature of the role means you will need to effectively manage stakeholder and supplier relationships, be accountable for strategic and technical advice to the board and the Mayor of South Yorkshire, collaborate with colleagues and build a strong consensus.

You will need proven experience of successfully building, leading, managing, and motivating a team to achieve their maximum potential and creating healthy and high performing teams. As such you will be a good communicator with the ability to lead, influence and challenge.
