Are you a pharmacy assistant looking to gain experience in clinical pharmacy services? If so, University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Trust (UHBW) has an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team, working in the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC).
As a clinical pharmacy assistant, you will work closely with the specialist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver valuable pharmacy services to the BHOC inpatient wards and Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) day unit. This is a new, patient facing role, helping us to bring pharmacy supply services closer to our patients.
If you are interested in this post, you will need previous experience working in pharmacy and a level 2 qualification in pharmacy services. We will support you to complete the Pharmacy Workforce Development South course for managing patient medication requirements if you do not have this accreditation already.
We are committed to comprehensive patient care, so this role involves participation in the departmental late, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
Main duties of the job
1. Supporting the delivery of the clinical pharmacy service to the BHOC inpatient wards and SACT day unit.
2. Assisting with medicines management tasks including medication ordering, assessment of patients own drugs, discharge planning, and production of medication reminder charts.
3. Undertaking a wide range of dispensing related duties to ensure accurate supply of medicines in a timely manner.
4. Managing stock in designated clinical areas, including top ups and stock list reviews.
5. Providing operational support to the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) dispensary team on a sessional basis.

* Pharmacy Workforce Development South Medicines Optimisation Training Programme accreditation for managing patient medication requirements or willing to work towards this when in post
