This opportunity is open to Grade 9 and Grade 10 academics within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, at the University of Leeds only. Workload allowance 0.8FTE.
Are you an experienced leader, who can demonstrate credibility both academically and managerially? Can you provide strategic vision and leadership to our large and complex Faculty with a focus on student experience, recruitment, and transnational education?
The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences is looking to appoint a Deputy Dean (Student Experience). You will work closely with the Executive Dean, current Deputy Dean, Faculty Operations Director and Pro-Deans to help to provide strategic vision, direction and leadership to enable academic development and continuous improvement in student experience and transnational education.
You will be a decisive but collaborative academic leader with a track record of leadership and management in a relevant context to engineering and physical sciences, a proven ability to drive and implement change successfully and an aptitude for collaborative working. You will bring an ability to think strategically and creatively about the improvement and development of the Faculty, as well as a passion for outstanding education. You will be a team player who is capable of working effectively with a wide range of colleagues at all levels.
You will deputise for the Executive Dean as required, including, where appropriate, at the University Executive Group and its cognate committees.
The position entails a workload allocation of 0.8 FTE, indicating that the individual will dedicate 80% of their time to Deputy Dean responsibilities while fulfilling academic duties for the remaining 20% if on a full-time schedule.
This role will be based at the University of Leeds campus and there is scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
