Job Title: Senior Capital Analyst

Reporting to: Capital Manager
The Role
Restatement of capital for the group and its subsidiaries at daily/monthly frequencies reporting positions to the Capital Manager.
Provide insightful capital and balance sheet analysis to the capital manager and head of capital.
Outcomes of the Role
* Monthly recalculation of regulatory capital and leverage exposure on a group consolidated and entity level basis using inputs sourced from within the Group Treasury & ALM function, and from the wider finance department.
* Monthly review of balance sheet movement for the group and its entities, comparing to forecast projections and setting out basic commentary on movements.
* Monthly restatement of the countercyclical capital buffer percentage and refresh of forecasting assumptions specific to the buffer calculation to assess potential increases in capital requirement.
* Refresh assumptions required by the treasury ALM team to restate and report regulatory capital positions on a daily basis to key stakeholders.
* Support the Capital Manager with the collation and refresh of forecasting assumptions to be used in capital and balance sheet modelling.
* Support the Head of Capital with the production of the annual ICAAP and Recovery & Resolution documents through the provision of data tables and statistics.
* Support the Senior Prudential Manager - IFPR with the production of the annual ICARAs through the provision of data tables and statistics.
* Production of regulatory returns where Capital are the assigned owners in accordance with requirements of the regulatory reporting governance framework.
* Maintain data required to produce MI to be reported to the Capital Manager and Head of Capital.
* Attend the capital performance forum, taking minutes and logging actions for distribution to the correct owners.
* Maintain procedures, reflecting changes as they occur and testing where appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Working towards either accountancy (ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or treasury qualifications (ACT or equivalent).
* Experience with maintaining forecasting models.
* Able to communicate information, ideas, or issues effectively and clearly through the most appropriate channel within the team and to key stakeholders.
* Able to organise and prioritise own workload effectively, working to a high degree of autonomy.
* Demonstrate good teamwork, supporting colleagues to achieve team goals.
* An eye for detail, able to identify, investigate and clearly explain variance.
* High level of accuracy and concentration with ability to grasp new tasks quickly.
* Comfortable working across the MS Office suite of applications.
* Able to source simple datasets and translate into user-friendly outputs to support analysis and reporting.
* Able to translate source data into insightful analysis that supports understanding and decision making.
