This, coupled with a growing emphasis on climate change resilience and a thriving innovation ecosystem, promises a future where the UK water sector is more efficient, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of both the environment and its customers!
Job Overview
A fantastic new opportunity has been created by our newly appointed Chief Customer Officer to lead on Brand and Marketing for Southern Water, as we look to take customers on this transformation journey with us.
Reporting directly to our Chief Customer Officer, this Senior Leadership role will be responsible for shaping and delivering Southern Water’s marketing and brand strategy to increase brand visibility, drive reputational change and build customer engagement.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Define brand positioning, value proposition, and messaging frameworks to differentiate the company in the industry and build brand reputation.
2. Analyse market trends, customer insights, and industry landscape to inform strategic decisions.
3. Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing and brand team, fostering a high-performance culture.
4. Work cross-functionally with internal teams, and collaborate with external agencies and partners to execute campaigns effectively.
5. Oversee the development and maintenance of brand guidelines, and enhance brand recognition and reputation across the region.
6. Drive digital marketing strategies, including SEO, email campaigns, and content marketing.
About You
This role will make excellent use of your proven experience in brand management and marketing strategy development as well as your strong understanding of consumer behaviour and market dynamics.
In this position, you will be able to apply your expertise in digital marketing channels and strategies (such as website management, email, and SEO) and you will be able to utilise your excellent leadership and team management skills.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in a challenging sector, an energy to create meaningful change and cut through the red tape, as well as a real desire to support and educate customers on the journey ahead!
Whilst experience of a regulated industry would be advantageous, we welcome applicants from other sectors as we recognise the added value they can bring to our organisation.
