Overview CRAFT APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY Spirit AeroSystems is looking for apprentices to join the team WHY SPIRIT? Spirit is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of complex structures for the aerospace industry. You will be joining the team at the Prestwick site, which employs around 1,200 people, and is where the assembly of wing packages for the Airbus A320 family, Airbus A350 XWB and the Boeing 767 takes place. Spirit has recently grown our work content with the addition of a new automated composite production line for Airbus A320 spoilers. The Prestwick site also has an Aerospace Innovation Centre which focuses on research and technology development aimed to increase the Company's capabilities and position Spirit for future growth and success. Responsibilities APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME The Prestwick Craft Apprenticeship Programme involves both on the job training and study at college. The programme takes around 4 years to complete and could be the start of a rewarding career within the aerospace industry. On successful completion, apprentices will have obtained an SVQ3 in Aeronautical Engineering (SCQF6) and HNC Aeronautical Engineering. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: By August 2025, applicants must be able to demonstrate ONE the following entry options fully: OPTION A OPTION B Nat 5 English Nat 5 Mathematics Plus ONE of the following: PEO Aeronautical Engineering Nat 5 Physics Nat 5 Practical Metalworking Nat 5 Design & Manufacture (all at grade A-C) - Application of Maths is not acceptable Foundation Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering Please ensure your CV includes sufficient detail to demonstrate that you meet the eligibility requirements and qualifications, as it will be used for vetting and screening purposes. Qualifications Successful applicants must also have a positive, enthusiastic and hardworking attitude combined with practical hand skills, strong communication skills and a genuine interest in aerospace manufacturing as a career. The craft apprenticeship role will focus heavily on skills required for shopfloor assembly techniques. Selection for the Craft Apprenticeship Programme will involve completion of an on-line application, uploading a CV (detailing qualifications obtained and expected August 2025) and uploading proof of qualifications. Suitable candidates will then take part in further down section activities including online testing around mid March followed by a formal interview around April. Successful applicants will commence their apprenticeship in August 2025.
