Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Axcis is supporting a secondary school dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to join our team. Candidates with a background in residential care or support work are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
2. Support students in developing coping strategies, social skills, and academic progress.
3. Monitor and report on students' progress and adapt support as necessary.
4. Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in supporting children with SEND; SEMH experience is desirable.
2. Background in residential care or support work is advantageous.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Enhanced DBS on the update system.
