An excellent opportunity has become available for a Mobile Refrigeration Engineer covering the Motherwell region.
This role would suit an experienced Transport Refrigeration Engineer, although consideration would be given to experienced Motor Vehicle Technicians looking to get into the Transport Refrigeration Industry.
Reporting into the Regional Business Manager, you will work as part of a team of Mobile Refrigeration Engineers. The focus will be the maintenance and repair of ThermoKing Refrigeration equipment used on large distribution vehicles. Our customers are busier than ever before, so providing high levels of customer care is paramount for the success of our business as well as all of our employees. The role duties include:
1. Installation, servicing, and repair of vehicle-powered road transport refrigeration units, limiting costs of stock used on contract accounts and maximizing revenue generation in all areas.
2. Optimizing and maintaining engineer van stock to enhance service delivery to MFS customers.
3. Ensuring relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily.
4. Maintaining product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9002 standards at all times, undertaking company training (at our dedicated training centre in Aldridge, Birmingham) and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process.
5. Liaising with central control and/or the service centre regarding job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorization; cost updates and customer purchase orders.
6. Completing all relevant paperwork and online (PDA) requirements to enable central control and invoicing, maintaining a high standard of customer interface - keeping the customer informed.
7. Assisting with planning of installations and undertaking installations and commissioning.
8. Performing other duties and projects which correspond to the general character of the position.
9. Ensuring adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, Health & Safety procedures, and ISO9002 standards.
10. Supervising apprentices and/or engineers in training (EIT) where applicable.
11. Ensuring customer service is a priority and conducting corporate image (self, van, tools, spares) to a first-rate standard.
Qualifications
1. Ideally hold their F-Gas qualification and have a relevant C&G or equivalent within an Engineering discipline.
2. Experience of Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or Commercial Engineering is required, as well as high levels of customer care and attention.
3. Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Mechanical Engineering experience required.
4. IT literate (Microsoft Office), PDA use.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Numerate, literate, methodical, systematic.
7. Attention to detail and target driven.
8. Customer service skills & relationship building skills.
9. Punctuality and efficiency.
Additional information
1. UK driving licence. Travel required, van & major tools supplied along with Company Fuel Card, additional payment for overnight stays (for training). You will also be paid door to door i.e., from leaving your home to arriving back home.
2. Needs to be physically fit to perform required tasks. Participation in additional on-call roster, including overtime & premium times paid, working nights and weekends when required.
3.
