Main duties of the job To ensure personal competency in all areas of a multidisciplinary specimen reception. To manage Pathology Specimen Reception atRoyal Surrey Hospital/Royal Berkshire directing them in the most effective and efficient process to meet service needs. To attend, and contribute, as a senior member of staff, to BSPS and departmental meetings, helping to formulate policy and procedures, prepare business plans as required. To provide support in the effective communication both within this area and throughout Specimen Reception. To ensure others are effective within this pathway. To participate and represent pathology Specimen Reception in the Blood Sciences budget setting process of the department in order to plan for future service needs. To ensure compliance with BSPS's Standing Financial Instructions by all members of the department and to act as an authorised signatory for staff pay and expenses. To ensure the provision of workload statistics for Specimen Reception in a timelyfashion as required by the Biochemistry Site Lead. To contribute to the production of the Key Performance Indicators. The successful candidate will be expected to participate on the OOH rota which will include Late shifts and weekends.
