Would you like to make a big difference in the lives of disabled children?
Are you positive, enthusiastic and committed? If so, we need you to join our team to care for children in a 5 bed, long term children’s home. You will be creative, patient, caring and enjoy working in a team to provide the best quality care possible for children with a wide range of disabilities.
You will have experience of, and a genuine passion for, working with learning disabled children aged 0 to 17 who may display behaviour that challenges. Experience and knowledge of the impact of, and approaches to working with autistic children, along with experience of working with children who have complex needs such as sensory/communication difficulties and clinical needs is important.
You will be able to communicate effectively with children and build caring, positive relationships with them and their families, to enable children to achieve their potential. You will understand the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and their development and the role of children’s residential care within this. You will be fun and child focussed and able to work as part of a team to plan and deliver care.
All RCCW posts will keywork the children, which involves working in partnership to ensure that plans are developed and followed. The Level 3 post is a senior role, so we are looking for people with experience and skill of planning, leading and motivating others as the Levels 3s will supervise other staff.
You must have excellent ability in written and numerical skills. Health and Social Care CYP NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma are desirable or the commitment to study to achieve this is essential. In return you will become a part of our supportive, caring team and training will be provided to develop your knowledge and understanding of working with our children.
Due to the nature of the post, applicants must be 22 years of age or above and you must hold a full, clean driving license.
Shift work is an essential part of the post and includes evening and weekend working plus sleep-in duties in the children’s home. You must be flexible and be able to change shifts to accommodate the needs of the service.
