The Company
This Site Manager's role is with one of the UK's leading main contractors. They have an excellent reputation and build some of the country’s most iconic buildings. They are a diverse organisation covering most sectors of the built environment and this specific role is within their fit-out and refurbishment division. Projects are varied ranging from £500k - £50 million in the commercial, retail, and public sector.
The Role
We are looking for a Site Manager to join the team on a £5m refurbishment of a grade II listed building. This is a long-term position on an 18-month contract.
Your role will include:
1. Allocate resources and staff ensuring projects have appropriate on-site supervision.
2. Assist in the development of programmes for project delivery and monitoring.
3. Identify the quality expectations and ensure these are achieved.
4. Manage statutory and company requirements for managing Health, Safety, and environment compliance.
5. Understand the contractual requirements of the project.
6. Identify and manage risk.
7. Agree requirements for time, cost, and quality aspects of trade contractor packages.
8. Maintain good relationships with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors.
Experience of working on Listed Buildings is a must for this role.
To be successful in the role, you will be an effective communicator with a positive, passionate, and engaging approach. You will have good writing and analytical skills and solid experience in taking full responsibility and leadership for fit-out, refurbishment, and cut-and-carve projects.

1. NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management
2. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
3. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Black Card
4. (UKATA) Duty to Manage Asbestos
5. First aid at work (3-day training course)
6. Fire Management Training
