We're looking for an Estimator to support our industry leading products at Tosoh Quartz, Inc. in Durham. As the Estimator, you will act on customer requests to determine manufacturability and develop cost estimates of new quartz products. Implement necessary changes to existing products. Schedule: 6:00 – 15:30 Monday – Thursday, and 8:00 – 12:00 Friday What You’ll Do At Tosoh Quartz. Work within the estimating team to review technical drawings. Develop manufacturing plans and procedures, evaluate cost factors, and provide accurate quotes for TQI customers. Partner with manufacturing team to develop robust manufacturing processes for new products. Assist cross functional team to carry out Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI). Provide estimating support to the development and production teams from a technical and cost basis. Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluate cost factors. Maintain awareness and control of project cost, quality, scope, and schedule, to ensure on-time delivery of the project within budget. Work within the IFS ERP system to set up both parts and projects. Support production with technical questions and ECO requests. Who You Are. Minimum requirements: Level 5 or higher in engineering or an alternative technical field. 4 years of manufacturing experience in an assembly, quality, or machining environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with engineering technical drawings and GD&T. Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram or schedule form instructions from both internal and external customers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Intermediate computer skills; experience with MS Office. Ability to assemble and enter accurate data into Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.
