We're looking for an RAPID Prostate Clinical Nurse Specialist to support patients through their initial assessment and diagnostic testing for Prostate Cancer as part of our RAPID service. Patients on the RAPID Pathway have been referred by their GP for Prostate Cancer investigations; the nurse-led RAPID service aims to see these patients and refer them for diagnostic testing within 48 hours of initial referral.

Main duties of the job
* Assesses patients with suspected prostate cancer.
* Refers for diagnostic testing where appropriate.
* Refers for Senior review where straight to test is not appropriate.
* Shares test results with patients and explains the next steps of investigation.
* Ensures that appropriate diagnostic tests are booked in a timely manner.
* Undertakes research activities and leads clinical audits in own specialist area.
* Communicates with a range of other staff of all disciplines, acting as a highly specialist resource including liaison with healthcare providers both within and outside of the Trust regarding diagnosis and treatment advice.
About us
The Urology Team is made up of 13 Consultants, 8 Clinical Nurse Specialists, and 2 Cancer Support Workers along with a specialist administrative team to support the patient journey and experience, which has been enhanced by the move to a new Urology Department on Alstone Clinic.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development and clinical experience.
* Advanced Communications skills course.
* Evidence of managing cancer patients' complex needs.
* Able to contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies/protocols/guidelines relevant to the area of practice.
* Level 7 Post Grad Diploma/Master's Degree within relevant specialty or commitment to work towards.
* Specialist clinical skills and experience within the specialist area.
* Demonstrates ability to keep up to date with professional issues that influence clinical practice, management, education, and research.
