Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the Macmillan Unit (G1) at the West Suffolk Hospital. G1 is a 12 bedded oncology and haematology unit, caring for and supporting patients undergoing various cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy. We also care for patients suffering toxicities relating to these treatments. The Macmillan Unit has retained the Macmillan Unit Environment Mark for a further 3 years Applications are invited from registered nurses who can demonstrate good standards of nursing care, attention to detail and a patient / family centred approach. Previous oncology/ haematology experience is desirable but not essential. The post includes internal rotation onto nights, bank holidays and weekend working Main duties of the job This is a great opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a unit which provides ward-based care, outpatient treatment in the day unit, community care on our Mobile Cancer Care Unit and an Acute Oncology Service. You will learn skills of: Caring for Central Venous lines.
