You will work with the team to provide a responsive, nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment for children aged 4 - 11 years attending the After School Club.Key Responsibilities:1. SUPPORT FOR PUPILSSupervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities both inside and outsideEstablish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needsPromote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupilsEncourage pupils to interact with others and engage in learning led by the teacherSet challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independenceProvide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacherAdminister First Aid as required (Training provided)2. SUPPORT FOR TEACHERSCreate and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans, and assist with the display of pupils' workUse strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goalsAssist with the planning of learning activitiesMonitor pupils' responses to learning and accurately record achievement/progress as directedProvide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils' achievement, progress, problems etc.Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviourEstablish constructive relationships with parents/carersProvide clerical/admin support e.g. photocopying, filing etc3. SUPPORT FOR THE CURRICULUMWork with groups of children in both the indoor and outdoor teaching areas on a daily basisUndertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responsesUndertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies e.g. English, maths, Early Years, recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacherSupport the use of technology in learning activities and develop pupils' competence and independence in its usePrepare, maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use4.
