Description As the Risk Specialist, your role responsibilities will include: Enhance risk management: Play a pivotal role in maintaining, embedding, and enhancing the risk management framework ensuring consistent promotion throughout the organisation. Support risk owners: Assist risk owners in accurately articulating and scoring their risks, identifying mitigating actions and controls to manage these risks effectively. Engage with local risk leaders: Support Local Risk Leader's Group by participating in meetings, responding to training requests, and sharing risk management information and guidance. Look for opportunities to enhance the group's effectiveness and collaboration. Build relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and key business areas, acting as a 'critical friend' by providing advice, challenge, support, and guidance on risk matters. Promote risk appetite: Advocate for the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), helping the organisation understand and apply it as a decision-making tool. Identify opportunities to integrate the RAS more effectively into business processes. Enhance risk culture: Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and opportunities to strengthen our risk culture. General support: Provide general support to the Enterprise Risk Manager and Head of Risk & Assurance as needed. Profile A successful Risk Specialist should have: Demonstrable experience of providing risk oversight and using risk management frameworks to develop organisational risk maturity. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders from across the organisation, including the ability to influence and challenge appropriately at senior levels. Ability to utilise tools (such as MS Office/PowerPoint/Excel) for data analysis and reporting with high attention to detail and accuracy, and a focus on delivering quality outputs. Demonstrable experience in mentoring and training colleagues, particularly in risk management practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly and effectively.
