An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate is a high performing, award winning team which strives to support clinical boards and divisions to deliver their CIP programmes, through value-based procurement.
Based in the Strategic Procurement Team, the Assistant Procurement Business Partner role will align to the Surgery & Cancer Board and provide Trust wide collaboration. The Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate is seeking highly motivated, analytical, conscientious individuals who can work under pressure in challenging financial times.
The post of Assistant Procurement Business Partner, reporting to the Senior Procurement Business Partner, will be required to undertake, implement and monitor a number of procurement activities. The post holder will be responsible for identifying, supporting and leading on procurement projects, which will deliver cash releasing and value-added savings against non-pay spend, contributing to CIP targets.
Supporting the Senior Procurement Business Partner, the successful candidate will lead and manage the procurement operational aspects of the Board. This includes ensuring the day-to-day function operates smoothly and that any issues are dealt with in a proactive and positive manner.
Main duties of the job
As an Assistant Procurement Business Partner, you will be supported by a Procurement Officer role. It is expected that the successful candidate and the Senior Procurement Business Partner and team will be responsible for working collaboratively with their allocated Board. They will plan and undertake a wide-reaching range of procurement activities, including tendering (complex/high value), to ensure optimum value is unlocked from all non-pay spend against tight deadlines.
The role of Assistant Procurement Business Partner is expected to be familiar with the Procurement legislative requirements as well as have experience of delivering and managing a number of projects in a pressurised environment. It is expected that the successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills and is able to interpret and present complex ideas/concepts accurately and effectively.
This post is aligned with the Surgery and Cancer Board, which comprises of 6 divisions (Cancer Services, North Central London Cancer Alliance, Surgical Specialities, Gastrointestinal (GI), Theatres & Anaesthesia and Imaging), leading and supporting on the delivery of clinical procurement activities within a portfolio of projects and programmes that deliver improved patient care experience and cost efficiency savings across the Trust and NCL Integrated Care Systems.
