We are looking for experienced and dedicated MRI radiographers to join our MRI team. We will also consider experienced Radiographers who are looking to train in MRI.
This is an exciting opportunity currently based at the Kings Mill site, with the potential for future rotation across all SFH sites. The MRI department will benefit from the introduction of the new state-of-the-art Philips Ingenia Ambition 1.5T system in the next 12 months, within an environment designed to offer the best service to optimize both staff and patients' experiences.
We also have exciting expansion plans underway to increase the MRI service across the Trust over the next 18 months, including the development of our new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) MRI at Mansfield Community Hospital.
The post-holder will work as part of a team consisting of radiographers, an assistant practitioner, and imaging assistants to provide a 12-hour, 7-day service including Bank Holidays in the MRI Department. The successful candidate will develop specialized knowledge and expertise to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment, while maintaining high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for:
1. Producing high-quality MRI images for diagnosis and treatment.
2. Maintaining high standards of patient care.
3. Working collaboratively within the MRI team.
4. Participating in the training and development of less experienced staff.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Underpinning theory and professional knowledge acquired through diploma/degree in radiography.
* Knowledge of NHS procedures, policies, and guidelines.
* Portfolio to show evidence of continuous professional development.
* Specialist expertise, underpinned by theory and practical experience acquired through diploma/degree/postgraduate study.
Qualifications
* DCR R or BSc (Hons Radiography).
* State registration with HCPC.
* Evidence of further study.
Further Training
* Evidence of competency in IV cannulation.
* Ability to reconstruct images.
Experience
* Supervisory experience.
* Significant NHS experience as a Band 5 radiographer may be supplemented by short courses + CPD.
* Evidence of supervising students and support staff.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Teaching skills.
* Experience of working in a department and rotating into MRI.
Contractual requirements
* May have to work extended days in the future.
* To work Saturdays as part of the rota.
