Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Washington, but moving to the Houghton Site after 2 months
Annual Salary: £17-£18 per hour
Shifts: Day shift - 4-day working week

Job Description:
As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in the production of precision components for various industries. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines, interpreting technical drawings, and programming the machines using CAM software or manual programming methods. You will ensure the accuracy and quality of machined parts through in-process inspections and troubleshooting.
Main duties of the CNC Machinist include:
1. Setting up and operating CNC turning machines for precision machining.
2. Programming CNC machines using Fanuc or Siemens systems.
3. Reading and interpreting technical drawings to determine machining operations.
4. Conducting in-process inspections to verify dimensions and ensure product quality.
5. Troubleshooting and adjusting machine settings to improve efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal CNC Machinist will have:
1. Proven experience in CNC programming and operation, especially with Fanuc or Siemens controls.
2. Knowledge of offline programming (an advantage).
3. Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling selection.
4. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
5. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
