Role: Senior Contracts Manager Job Ref: QAD 2194 /1411 Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate Hours per week: 37 hours per week Contract Length: Initially 18 months Location: Reading, West Berkshire The Senior Contracts Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing contract management team focused on delivering optimal contract performance and fostering a culture of excellence. In this role, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert on assigned contracts, offering expert guidance to ensure the business meets its contractual goals efficiently and effectively. Key accountabilities:
* Ensure all contracts have a robust Contract Management Plan with defined procedure for delivery performance management, invoice applications, risk management and contract reviews.
* Ensure contracts are delivered in accordance with business management system, priorities and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders and with the SCM sub-unit Leadership Team) to understand their detailed business requirements and championing contract best practice.
* Influence key decision makers to secure best contract solutions to satisfy the Board and HMG requirements.
* Implement the Supplier Relationship Management framework for assigned key suppliers who have a significant impact on the organisation’s business, with the objective of managing risk, managing performance, and extracting more value from the supplier base.
* Support procurement activity through providing best practice contact advice to develop contract templates and bespoke terms.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in contract management, with a strong track record in leading contract performance improvement initiatives.
* Deep knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements related to contract management.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate, negotiate, and influence at all organisational levels.
* Experience in supplier relationship management, with a focus on risk mitigation, performance optimisation, and value extraction.
* Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing contract management processes, including the use of contract management tools and systems.
