Stanton House is currently supporting a PE backed business in Birmingham with the search for a Tax Consultant. 3 days on site, 2 from home - this contract will run for 3-6 months and fall outside IR35. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all internal and external tax-related financial reporting requirements. Both Corporation Tax and VAT is required. Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations in financial reporting. Prepare and review tax disclosures for management Statutory Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring they comply with relevant regulatory and reporting standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify all tax-related financial data for inclusion in statutory accounts. Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact for tax-related inquiries during external audits. Address and resolve audit queries efficiently to meet reporting deadlines. Tax Risk Management: Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations that could impact financial reporting. Provide guidance to the Financial Reporting team on tax-related matters and ensure alignment with corporate policies. Qualifications and Experience: Professional accounting or tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent). Proven experience in tax compliance and financial reporting, preferably within a mid-size organisation as this is a 'hands on' position. Strong knowledge of tax regulations, statutory accounts preparation, and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
