The Durham and Tees Valley Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) are looking to recruit a Team Manager who is a highly motivated and skilled individual to provide operational management to the Learning Disability Teams across Teesside.
The Team Manager role covers both North Tees (Hartlepool and Stockton) and South Tees (Middlesbrough and Redcar) LD Getting More Help Teams within CAMHS. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will travel between the teams as required.
Main duties of the job
It is an exciting time to join the CAMHS LD team as the successful candidate will be key in maintaining service delivery and working collaboratively with children, young people and their families, and partner agencies to ensure that we meet the needs of the young people within the Teesside locality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the training, supervision and professional development of the teams. In addition, they will ensure that effective partnership work is maintained and enhanced across the locality.
In this role, you will require experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate an ability to support day-to-day management of a highly functioning and often challenging service. Therefore, experience of working within learning disability and/or mental health services is essential.
Job responsibilities
You will be accountable for ensuring that the highest professional standards and attitudes towards the care of patients are maintained and delivered at all times in accordance with evidence based practice by all members of the team.
Ensures that the team provides the best possible experience for patients and their carers/families.
Ensures that all staff have access to appropriate clinical supervision and mentorship and that they know how to access clinical advice on complex issues both within the team (which would include themselves) and from other disciplines and external organisations.
Investigates and responds to patient complaints in an effective and timely manner.
Person Specification
* Post Graduate Diploma in leadership or a subject area relevant to the area of practice or be willing to work towards and achieve within the first 2 years
* AND Hold a relevant degree (or degree equivalent) and have equivalent experience to that of Post Graduate Diploma level such as significant experience of working as a band 6 (or equivalent Band 6 or above) experience as outlined below

* Significant experience of operational management (including leading and managing people, performance and service development)
* Working collaboratively with others
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Evidence of delivering management supervision
* Developing, maintaining and auditing standards of practice
* Quality Improvement activities
* Inter-agency and partnership working
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
* Governance and its application in practice
