Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join a well-established community team based in Ceredigion. The successful candidate will have experience with school aged and/or preschool children. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills, with a passion for delivering high standards of care working in the heart of the community. You will work as part of a well-established team of therapists, assistants and multi-agency colleagues. Main duties of the job You will be supported by a team of Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and have the opportunity to be part of shaping and developing the service as well as providing supervision to junior colleagues. The caseload will comprise of children with a range of Speech Language and Communication Needs, and there will be also be small number of children with complex needs. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload within identified schools, providing assessment, intervention, advice and training asrequired. An ability to develop strong working relationships with education staff is essential. You will also be required to liaise closely with parents, education staff and other health professionals to ensure strategies and approaches can be embedded both at home and in school. The development of leadership skills in all posts is actively promoted within the Hywel Dda Speech and Language Therapy Service. Weencourage active engagement with local Professional Practice Groups (PPGs) and involvement with innovations in Speech and LanguageTherapy at an All Wales/National level. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
