Job summary The department of Neurosurgery is part of the Neuroscience Care Group which includes as well Neurology, Stroke Medicine. This post is for Locum Consultant Neurosurgeon with special interest in Vascular Neurosurgery and Skull Base. The post holder is required to support inpatient and outpatient Neurosurgery services and will play a critical role in delivering Neurosurgery for Hull, the Yorkshire & Humber region and North East Lincolnshire. The Service treats patients from Hull, Scarborough, Bridlington, York, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Louth and Doncaster. Main duties of the job The purpose of this post is to provide a regional Neurosurgical service to patients with neurological disorders and to develop an interest in a specialist field of cranial vascular and skull base Neurosurgery. The post is a temporary post with a view to look at a substantive appointee in the future. The appointee will be expected to take independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients referred to them at the Neurosurgical centre. The holder of the post will work in team with other consultants with subspecialty interest in vascular and skull base neurosurgery.
