Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the DC Health and Safety management systems.
2. Coach and develop the DC management teams to drive ownership and leadership qualities within the Distribution centres and supply chain.
3. Lead the Health and Safety Training Teams on both sites delivering all MHE and health & safety training programmes.
4. Business partner with the DC management teams to lead and influence all on-site health and safety activity.
5. Plan and implement employee health and safety initiatives for continuous improvements.
6. Ensure systems and processes are in place to meet statutory compliance.
7. Lead development/improvements of risk assessments and safe systems of work throughout the DCs.
8. Ensure Managers, Team Leaders, and employees are trained and equipped to carry out their legislative health and safety obligations.
9. Provide competent safety advice in health and safety meetings and site management meetings.
10. Lead site and cross-site safety audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions.
11. Monitor health and safety implementation on site, raising issues of non-compliance, and offering advice where required.
12. Lead the completion of accident investigations and statutory reporting.
13. Collate, report, and analyze accident statistics and health and safety KPIs.
14. Conduct company health and safety inductions, safety tours, and inspections.
15. Manage communications with the Environment Health Office & Primary Authority.
16. Pursue continuous professional development, ensuring skills and knowledge are up-to-date.
