Maternity are recruiting a registered general nurse to work alongside the community midwives at our new bespoke maternity hub on Oldbury road, our other clinical areas and on occasion you will be required to attend our flagship purpose built hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. You will be working predominantly Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, running our early bird clinic which involves observations and obtaining consent for booking bloods and screening to be taken, providing public health information in pregnancy, and conducting home visits for patient reviews. There will be some administration and audit required.
If you are thinking about becoming a midwife, this role will provide insight into the role of the community midwife.
The role involves seeing patients in clinic, phlebotomy, and delivering public health initiatives for pregnancy, including smoking cessation.
Assisting community midwives with paired visits, you will also work independently in the community with lone visits conducting calls and reports, blood pressure checks, and wound reviews. There will also be safeguarding responsibilities.
As this is a community post, a car and full driving license with business usage insurance is required.
