FBR Recruitment is looking for an experienced Night Shift Health and Safety Advisor to work on a construction project in Northampton. The role will require both monitoring of a principal contractor and the candidate must be able to act on behalf of the client whilst maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the contractor. The successful candidate must be someone who can work independently\n\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\n\n * Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;\n\n * Monitoring and working with the principal contractor appointed to complete the project;\n\n * Attending regular meetings with the principal contractor;\n\n * Providing support and assistance to the principal contractor and contractors on site;\n\n * Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing and maintaining our relationship;\n\n * Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client’s requirement;\n\n * Managing the client’s health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service;\n\n * Advising and assisting the client with their duties under the CDM regulations and other construction related health and safety standards, regulations and legislations;\n\n * Assisting with the coordination of health and safety aspects of design work;\n\n * Cooperating with others involved with the project;\n\n * Facilitating good communication between the client, designers and contractors;\n\n * Liaising with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work;\n\n * Producing and presenting regular reports to our main client – this will involve prompt flash reports of major issues as well as comprehensive weekly and monthly reports detailing all aspects of health and safety management on site;\n\n * Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or will arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance\n\nKey Skills:\n\n * Sound construction related health and safety management experience post Tech IOSH qualification;\n\n * Experience of delivering services on a live construction site;\n\n * Cohesive knowledge of construction methods and materials;\n\n * Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of construction related health and safety management;\n\n * Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction;\n\n * Excellent communication skills – both oral and written;\n\n * Methodical way of thinking and approach to work;\n\n * Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills;\n\n * Ability to prepare first class bids for services;\n\n * Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;\n\n * Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.\n\nQualifications\n\n * NEBOSH Construction and General Certificates/Tech IOSH minimum (will be considered with right amount of experience and other qualifications)\n\n * NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.\n\nThe rate is £425 pay per shift but negotiable depend on experience.\n\nPlease send your CV via email
