Position: Youth Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you resilient and experienced in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are seeking a committed Youth Behaviour Support Assistant to join our specialist provision in Bedford, providing essential support to students with SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer tailored support to students, helping them engage in learning and personal development.
2. Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm, proactive approach.
3. Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
4. Assist in creating and implementing individual behaviour support plans and interventions.
5. Build positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and mentor.
Requirements:
1. Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
2. A valid DBS on the update service (essential).
3. Relevant experience in youth services, support work, probation, police, prison services, or similar fields (desirable).
4. A strong understanding of SEMH and effective strategies to support young people.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
