Summary
Our Electrical Apprentice Design Engineer, you will support the design and implementation of Lighting, Power Distribution, Fire Alarm, Security and Data systems in various projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working under the guidance of experienced engineers in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Wage
£14,722.50 to £23,809.50 a year
Depending on age and experience, we will consider offering above minimum wage for the right candidate,

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties will include:
* Assist in the design and drafting of electrical systems.
* Support the preparation of project specifications and documentation
* Conduct load calculations to determine electrical requirements for various building types
* Collaborate with senior engineers to develop innovative design solutions that meet project requirements
* Participate in site visits to gather information and assess project needs
* Learn to evaluate electrical equipment and material options for cost, efficiency, and sustainability
* Help in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during project implementation
* Stay updated on current technologies and trends to contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Course contents
* Apply engineering principles, using relevant scientific, theoretical and technical know-how to solve well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Apply building services engineering techniques, procedures and methods, and review the results, when measuring and testing, designing, installing, commissioning, maintaining or operating building services engineering systems.
* Employ a range of advanced mathematical, statistical and data interpretation tools, using analytical and computational methods to interpret and solve well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Interpret and compare performance information to choose compliant materials, components or parts.
* Select and use technical literature and other sources of information and data to address well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Produce and interpret building services engineering technical drawings, designs, and models, using analytical and computer-based software packages, recognising the limitations of the software used.
* Produce building services engineering technical solutions in accordance with relevant industry standards, procedures, codes of practice, regulations, and legislation.
