Job Description:
This person will be responsible for daily logistics activities and material movement process for the Heathrow Airport contract. This person will have accountability and custody of the inventory on site and its movements.
The incumbent must possess a proven track record for timely delivery and customer satisfaction. They must be an organised and systematic individual.
Understand the contractual relationships between Heathrow Airport and Smiths Detection for SLAs, along with the legal and compliance requirements of working in the region.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the Smiths Code of Corporate Responsibility and Business Ethics is upheld in all activities.
* Manage and maintain the company’s inventory on site through organised racking and bin identification to ensure quick response time to operational needs.
* Coordination with local service providers (transporters/3PL) for vehicles, helpers, lifting equipment, tools for delivery/placing of our inventory at Heathrow Airport.
* Receive shipments and ensure both quality and quantity. Maintain physical movements of inventory into and out of the Heathrow Airport facility.
* Manage and control inventory accuracy checks.
* Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete/redundant materials.
* Ensure incoming/outgoing product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
* Ensure the required safety precautions are followed while working in the airport/Customer Sites.
* Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients and following verbal and written instructions.
* Data to be maintained on SAP ERP and ServiceMax/SalesForce environment.
* Perform cyclic stock checks.
* Ensure works orders (WO) are accurately and timely fulfilled.
* Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved.
* Able to take on additional responsibilities as and when required by the management.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
* Ideally possessing a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management/purchasing.
* Computer literacy, competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialised software programs.
* Knowledge of SAP/Maximo/Servicemax.
Experience:
* Have a detailed understanding of inventory control/management systems.
* Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage.
Knowledge/Skills:
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer-focused working environment.
* Possess excellent personal organisation and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.
* Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
* Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
* Language skills in English required.
