Job Title: Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor\n\nLocation: Cambridge\n\nSalary: £30,000 - £40,000\n\nBenefits: 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays, company pension\n\nA national M&E Contractor are looking for a Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Cambridge. The company provides M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a multitude of sectors including MOD, HMP, Commercial, Education and Healthcare. These projects are typically valued up to £10M.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor to develop their career in quantity surveying within a supportive environment.
The role is open to someone with experience in the M&E industry looking to come off the tools and step into the commercial side of projects or a newly qualified quantity surveyor graduate who is keen to gain valuable knowledge and guidance to various stages of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to project close out from an experienced commercial team.\n\nThe successful candidate will be assisting the commercial and operations teams by helping manage all M&E financial and contractual aspects from initial calculations to the final account.\n\nAs the Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor you will have the following responsibilities:\n\n * Assist in preparing project costs and contracts.\n\n * Assist preparing tender documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.\n\n * Collaborate with quantity surveyors and project managers, assisting with risk management and cost control throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure successful project delivery.\n\n * Review client payment notices.\n\n * Help produce subcontract orders for supply chain.\n\n * Support communication between clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure a smooth flow of information.\n\nSuccessful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:\n\n * Experience in the M&E industry either from on the tools background or recent quantity surveying graduate.\n\n * Overall knowledge of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems.\n\n * Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.\n\n * The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.\n\n * Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.\n\n * Strong IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.\n\nPlease contact Adam Brown on (phone number removed) / (phone number removed) for more information about this role or if you are interested in a new M&E QS opportunity within the Building Services sector (Junior M&E QS, Junior M&E Quantity Surveyor, Junior Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor)
