About the Role
Being a Quality Technician in Givaudan, a manufacturer of Natural Food Colourings, you will be part of the Sense Colour Quality Control team located in Overseal, Derbyshire and reporting directly to the Quality Laboratory Manager, ensuring the supply of quality products to our Customers.
This is a 12 - 18 month contract covering maternity leave.
The hours will be part of a shift rota covering the hours 6am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
You Will:
1. Ensure all raw materials, in process and finished product quality testing are carried out to meet production time limitations.
2. Release of raw materials for use, finished goods for sale in compliance with specifications and validations of orders for despatch.
3. Perform internal microbiological analysis by petrifilm.
4. Evaluate new raw materials and pre-shipment samples.
5. Maintain records and documentation according to established procedures.
6. Ensure compliance to procedures in the manual, including all aspects of quality, environment and health and safety.
7. Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to the required standard.
8. Respect Health & Safety rules and procedures.
You Have:
1. 18+ months Chemical Laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
2. A Level or equivalent in a science subject and Math.
3. Knowledge of UV/VIS spectrophotometer, colorimetry, GC-FID, particle size analysis an advantage.
