Job Purpose
As role holder you will develop and deliver independent and regular data triangulation and cross-checks for key compliance factors to help identify issues and to help target the work of Audit and Assurance teams.
Conduct additional and differential checks of submission data produced by Operational directorates, support compliance investigations with data analytics as and when required.
You will also support the wider Regulation and Compliance team on matters relating to compliance, assurance, transparency and integrity.
Job Accountabilities
* Work with the Water and Wastewater Directorate and other relevant teams to identify data cross-check and triangulation opportunities and priorities.
* Support investigations into compliance issues – delivering high quality data analysis and checks, making recommendations for improvements where needed.
* Provide technical data input where required into the development of new processes and procedures to drive compliance and transparency.
* Support compliance related deep dives with data analysis.
* Supports Head of Environmental Regulation and Compliance and Environmental Regulation Assurance Manager.
* Supports the wider Regulation and Compliance team on matters relating to compliance and assurance processes & activities.
* Supports operational data improvement initiatives/programmes relating to submissions and compliance matters.
* Where required, supports the production and delivery of analysis for reports to internal groups and external stakeholders, such as the EA.
Knowledge and Skills
* A relevant degree and/or qualified with a relevant professional institution.
* Experience of working with complex data analysis (for example, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, coding), ideally related to technical and regulatory matters.
* An understanding of relevant data sets associated with clean and wastewater water regulated activities including compliance and telemetry systems.
* Understanding of data governance principles and practices.
* High levels of integrity and independence with excellent data and analysis skills.
* Experience of using data analytics in improving management control and insight for compliance with regulatory obligations.
* Excellent IT, data, report writing and written skills with the ability to produce clear, coherent reports without supervision which can be easily understood and are actionable, including by non-data experts.
