About us
Buckinghamshire is an exciting place to work and a beautiful place to live. It has a population of more than 500,000 and although generally healthy and wealthy, there are significant public health challenges and inequalities across the county. The Council is now a unitary authority that enhances our ability to successfully address the broader determinants of health. There is excellent partnership working across Buckinghamshire with a strong network of the local authority, NHS, community and charitable organisations, and our local residents.
The Public Health department is based in Buckinghamshire Council offices in Aylesbury, but with sites across the county and very effective remote working in place. We offer flexible working and a broad range of opportunities to enhance your portfolio and skills via continuing professional development.
About the role
The successful candidate will work across the public health team, Council and wider system as a pro-active and strategic leader with excellent technical and communication skills. The portfolio will focus on health inequalities, including inclusion health and public mental health (including suicide prevention), learning disabilities, autism and domestic abuse. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the NHS, voluntary sector and our local communities to make a real impact on improving health and wellbeing and reducing inequalities.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
