Job Title: Process Leader
Reporting to: Team Leader
Working Relationships: Internally, company wide
Job Summary
The Process Leader is primarily responsible for all aspects of one manufacturing process on an ongoing basis following systems and procedures to achieve the required quality and efficiencies. You may be cross-trained in other areas as required.
The manufacturing process can be summarised as:
1. Process of freezing frozen desserts
2. Mixing and layout truffle
3. Enrobing truffles
4. Packing truffles
5. Finishing truffles
Food Safety & Quality
Maintain safety and quality standards by ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Product Specifications are adhered to. Control the equipment and ensure that it is working effectively and producing the required standard of product. Report any equipment or utensil failure to the Team Leader. Ensure that hygiene and food handling standards for the room and equipment are maintained at all times.
Efficiency
Supervise the team and maintain equipment to achieve the target output efficiency (shown as Key Performance Indicator KPI).
Administration
Fully complete and sign the relevant paperwork for the process being supervised, accepting responsibility for achievement of the correct standard, and return to the Production Coordinator promptly on completion.
Support for Team Members
Provide leadership to the team to assist the Team Leader and when the Team Leader is not available. Support your team members to develop their skills, and provide guidance when required. Be aware of the well-being of fellow team members and encourage positive team relationships. Ensure that the team starts work and returns from breaks on time and report issues to the Team Leader. Communicate effectively with the Team Leader about the daily performance including machinery, team members, and health & safety issues.
Working Hours
The hours of work are 06:30 to 17:00, over four working days each week with a set day off each week (no weekend working unless overtime is offered which is of course optional).
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be physically fit, as these roles are predominantly for our mixing/enrobing team which involves a significant amount of manual work.
Experience Required
Previous factory experience is required, ideally in a food-related environment.
Salary
The starting rate for Process Leaders is £25,500.00 per annum which is £13.07 per hour, but there is an opportunity to achieve competency-based increases up to £29,000.00 per annum total in this role.
