We have the opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate to join our team to provide Reading Intervention at North Star 180°. We require an outstanding and motivated individual with a passion for reading, who can engage and inspire our students. You will work with individuals and groups to provide reading and phonics intervention to children with a wide range of needs. The role will also include the cover of some planned lessons on a regular basis.
You will be joining a positive, solution-focused team of staff who are dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
The successful applicants will:
* Have previous experience of delivering reading intervention and be enthusiastic about creating engaging sessions.
* Be willing to cover planned lessons as required.
* Be a flexible individual, who is able to successfully manage challenging behaviour.
* Be working with specific individuals or groups of children.
* Be able to use assessment to identify gaps and weaknesses in order to constantly challenge pupils.
* Have the ability to support reading and phonics for those students at the early stages of reading.
* Support our programme of extra-curricular activities.
* Have a flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.
* The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
* Skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.
* A willingness to undertake the further training that will be offered.

You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum. Actual salary £25,700 - £27,602 p.a.
