Teaching Assistant (EAL) – Primary
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £75 - £100 per day
Contract: Full Time/Part Time
Start: September term of 2024

About the Role:
GSL Education Newcastle is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant (EAL) to work in a progressive and inclusive primary school. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated teaching assistant who will support students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) to help them achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
* Support students with English as an Additional Language in developing their language skills.
* Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the needs of EAL students.
* Work with small groups and individual students to provide targeted support.
* Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Monitor and track the progress of EAL students, providing feedback to the classroom teacher.
* Encourage student participation and engagement in all classroom activities.
Qualifications:
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with EAL students.
* A passion for education and supporting young learners.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A patient and nurturing approach to supporting students with additional needs.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
