About Us We’re an AI-driven startup revolutionizing energy efficiency and building automation. Our mission is to create smarter, more sustainable solutions for the built environment by leveraging cutting-edge AI to optimize HVAC systems. As we expand our reach into real-world deployments, we’re looking for a hands-on expert who can bridge the gap between our technology and the practical challenges of the HVAC and BMS industry. The Role We’re seeking an HVAC/BMS-AI Integration Specialist with expertise in both HVAC systems and AI applications. You will play a critical role in ensuring our technology integrates seamlessly with existing HVAC and building management systems, overcoming challenges like system compatibility, proprietary restrictions, and real-world variability. Your expertise will guide our team in designing, testing, and implementing solutions that meet the needs of diverse environments and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Technical Integration: • Provide expertise on HVAC systems, BMS platforms, and open protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus). • Advise on compatibility challenges with proprietary systems and propose practical solutions to enable integration. • AI Deployment: • Collaborate with the AI and product teams to ensure the technology is adaptable to real-world HVAC constraints. • Optimize AI models for deployment in mixed-system environments, including those with limited control access. • Testing and Validation: • Design and oversee testing in real-world environments to validate AI performance and system integration. • Identify and address issues related to proprietary restrictions or mixed-system compatibility. • Support Product Development: • Guide the team in refining our solutions to align with industry standards and customer needs. • Recommend tools, middleware, or strategies to improve integration with both open and closed systems. What We’re Looking For Experience: • 5 years in HVAC systems, building automation, or BMS platforms. • Hands-on experience with proprietary platforms (e.g., JC Metasys, Carrier i-Vu) and open protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus). • Familiarity with deploying AI or advanced analytics in building systems. Skills: • Deep understanding of HVAC hardware (e.g., VAV boxes, dampers, chillers) and software. • Experience integrating third-party solutions into existing systems, including retrofitting or overlaying technologies. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges in constrained environments. Bonus: • Knowledge of IoT and cloud-based systems for building automation. • Familiarity with energy efficiency regulations and net-zero initiatives. • Experience working in a startup or fast-moving environment. Why Join Us? • Make an Impact: Help bring innovative, sustainable solutions to one of the most challenging industries. • Cutting-Edge Technology: Work at the forefront of AI and its application in building automation. • Growth Opportunity: Be part of a growing startup where your expertise will directly influence the success of the company. • Collaborative Culture: Join a passionate, ambitious team focused on solving big problems together. Location: Remote-friendly, with occasional on-site work as needed. Compensation: Competitive salary equity options. If you’re passionate about solving complex challenges at the intersection of HVAC systems and AI, we’d love to hear from you
