Role: Support Worker
Location: Crawley, RH10
Salary / Rate of pay: £11.75 to £12.20 per hour
Job Overview: Support Worker with experience working with adults with both learning disabilities & Epilepsy. A permanent & full-time role.
Preferred Experience:
1. 2x full-time support worker experience with Autism and Learning Disabilities preferred.
2. Experience with epilepsy would prove advantageous.
Working Hours:
The rota will include working alternate weekends (both days) and long/short shifts, being flexible to support the needs of the individuals we support. 5 days in 7, 42 to 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide the best possible support to individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism and/or Acquired Brain Injury.
2. Promote a person-centered approach to support planning, monitoring, and reviewing of needs and wishes.
3. Ensure compliance with supported living regulations, contractual responsibilities, Health & Safety law, and various bodies such as CQC & Local Authority.
4. Provide general care and support based on assessed individual requirements.
5. Assist customers with personal care, medication needs, and access to relevant healthcare.
6. Support customers in attending meaningful daytime occupations and leisure activities.
7. Encourage access to community facilities and maintain relationships with families, friends, and professionals.
8. Accurately update documentation within the customers' home.
9. Support customers in making decisions and being accountable for best interest decisions.
10. Maintain good working relationships within the team and with other relevant people.
11. Work shifts, which may include sleeping in and waking night duties, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
12. Comply with policies and procedures ensuring the well-being of the individuals using the service.
13. Maintain confidentiality regarding individuals, records, and third-party information.
14. Attend and complete training sessions and staff meetings as necessary.
15. Act as a keyworker, if required, for customers.
16. Identify maintenance and security issues and report to Head Office.
17. Undertake domestic chores to maintain a hygienically clean standard.
18. Deliver service with respect and commitment to equal opportunities.

20. Comply with all protocols and policies to promote health and safety.
21. Undertake any other duties consistent with the objectives of the post as required by the Service Manager.
22. Be an ambassador for the company and maintain a commitment to providing the best possible support.
Qualifications:
1. Values the rights of people with disabilities.
2. Understands the needs of people with Learning Disabilities.
3. Competent in basic mathematics and written skills.
4. Able to support customers with domestic duties (including cooking and cleaning).
5. Able to assist with personal care if required.
