Job Purpose:
You will manage and work hands-on with multiple development projects. I Holland’s R&D team is responsible for the development of both products and manufacturing processes, and you’ll be expected to work on projects from both sides of the business.
You will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree, preferably with some experience in metallurgy and advanced metallurgical coatings. A good understanding of Microsoft Office is essential. You will be expected to become a subject matter expert (relating to all products passing through R&D) and hold a key position within our Customer Support Group. You will be a very good communicator at all levels and will be willing to travel abroad on occasion. You will hold a full UK driving licence.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
* Manage multiple development projects
* Facilitate the manufacture of parts/components, etc.
* Liaise with manufacturing to improve current and research new machining processes
* Manage multiple development partners
* Identify possible grant funding opportunities
* Oversee our Component Testing Program (Wear, Corrosion & Toughness)
* Provide technical support to our Sales Team and Customers
* Write up all work instructions and quality control procedures relating to new processes/products
* Draft R&D Tax Narratives relating to own and others' R&D Projects
