Macmillan Metastatic Breast CNS Team Leader
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated senior nurse who is passionate about metastatic breast cancer to lead and develop the cross site Metastatic Breast Cancer CNS service. This is a permanent Band 8a post at 37.5 hours per week. This is a Macmillan badged post with access to support and educational funding.
Applications for this post are invited from nurses who have had extensive experience in breast cancer. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking individual who is flexible, self-motivated, and reliable plus a good team player and leader. The successful candidate should have a degree and be willing to develop their academic and clinical practice. They should have excellent communication skills verbally and written. They will play an active part in clinical practice, education, research/audit and the implementation of national guidelines and transformative services.
The successful applicant will work as part of a well-established dynamic multi-disciplinary Breast Cancer team who provide specialist advice, holistic care and support to patients, relatives and members of the health care teams. They will be required to lead, develop and evaluate the Metastatic Breast Cancer service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-disciplinary framework.
Main duties of the job
1. Lead and manage the Metastatic Breast Cancer CNS Nursing Team cross-site on a daily basis, ensuring that the team provide an excellent service to the Trust through evidence-based practice, education, policy, and guideline development.
2. Continually develop, implement and evaluate the Metastatic Breast Cancer Service to improve and maintain standards of patient care and promote a seamless service within a multi-professional framework.
3. Lead developments in practice consistent with the patient care priorities set nationally and locally.
4. Development of new roles or service redesign will take place in line with best practice and evidence-based care.
5. Develop and manage nurse-led clinics to streamline the metastatic breast cancer services to improve patient experience and develop effective pathways.
6. Maintain a high profile in clinical practice, promoting clinical excellence, initiating learning opportunities and promoting effective learning environments in all ward areas and clinic areas.
7. Be easily identifiable to clients and users, provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice, and assistance required by patients, their families and carers.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with a Degree and current NMC registration
* Advanced Communications Skills training
* Advanced Physical Assessment module completion
* Non-medical prescribing module or willing to complete
* Leadership training
* Mentor Prep/Teaching and Assessing qualification
* Evidence of recent continuous professional development
* Business case writing and success experience
* Psychology Level 2 training
Experience
* Recent experience as a senior team or service manager/leader
* Patient engagement and experience in surveying
* Evidence of working as a senior clinical leader
