This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for delivering the following:
1. Supports the Maintenance Manager in the upkeep of the building through completing tasks as required.
2. Take responsibility for supporting any items of maintenance requiring action from suppliers and ensuring timely and efficient service with minimal disruption to the business.
3. Assist with all relevant aspects relating to the welfare and gaming requirements of all external and internal customers, ensuring all areas of the building are safe; assist in compiling preventative maintenance schedules; oversee all recycling and waste management activities.
4. Provide "handyperson" duties including repairs, basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical work, maintenance, construction, checking fire fighting equipment, and carrying out periodic checks on fire alarms and emergency lighting, as well as assisting with the distribution and storage of deliveries.
5. Carry out repairs and maintenance work as requested by the Maintenance Manager & Facilities Supervisor, ensuring work is done safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to guests and the public.
6. Ensure the availability of all raw materials, tools, spare parts, and equipment necessary for repair works, assisting in the day-to-day activities of residential and commercial establishments.
7. Effectively accept delivery of goods for tasks allocated.
8. Support the Maintenance Manager & Maintenance Team in completing maintenance log documents.
9. Manage personal time effectively and meet all specified deadlines.
10. Ensure proper billing and invoicing of third-party services provided.
11. Interact with clients, operational, and office staff to thoroughly understand their requirements.
12. Coordinate work processes with other departments of the organization. This role functions in a business that operates evenings and weekends, requiring full flexibility and availability to work during these times.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Handy Person or in a maintenance environment.
2. City and Guilds Certificate (electrical, plumbing, gas, etc.)
3. Certificate to operate scissor and tower lifts.
4. HSE First Aid Qualification 1981.
5. Building and equipment maintenance knowledge, with a general understanding of plumbing, electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
6. Sound understanding of using all types of repair tools, equipment, and machinery.
7. Knowledge of HSE requirements.
