Frequency: 2-6 hours, once a week
Outline of Role:
Attending events including venues and our shops to promote the lottery and sell scratch cards. Bringing money and application forms into the Hospice.
To be able to represent the Hospice Lottery and follow Gambling Commission regulations, to ensure that we are working compliantly.
Role tasks may include:
* Attending Hospice Events, shops and venues
* Assembling the Lottery Booth
* Gaining public interest in buying scratch cards and providing background information about the funds we raise and promoting the weekly lottery where possible
* Ensuring that the correct money is taken and issued where a win is paid out, and balancing this to the number of cards sold
* Visiting the Lottery department at the Hospice to return monies taken and any unsold scratch cards
* Completing the necessary training required to comply with Gambling Commission Regulations
* Complying with all Covid-19 safety measures as required
Skills and Experience Required:
* Good literacy and numeracy skills for balancing scratch card money and completing application forms
* Good communication skills
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* A good level of physical fitness is advisable, as you will be carrying and assembling a Lottery booth at events
* Own transport is desirable
Personal Qualities Required:
* To have an easy and friendly nature, as you will be talking to members of the public and promoting the work we do to raise funds for the Hospice
* Must be confident and comfortable with working independently
* Able to follow instructions and adhere to Gambling Commission regulations
* Flexible and willing to comply with any Covid-19 safety measures required
* Some knowledge of our Lottery products is desirable, though training will be provided
This role requires training, which will take place online.
*We anticipate that this learning will take between two and three hours depending on your level of experience in using online platforms. Support is available if you do not have access to a computer at home, or would like assistance in completing the training. Please contact Voluntary Services for more information.

We offer a range of learning opportunities for volunteers and staff that you may be interested in attending. Please look out on our notice boards and talk to Voluntary Services.
Departmental support:
You will be supported by a designated member of the Lottery team who will provide remote support (by phone) when you are at events. You will receive a monthly update by email, and attend Gambling Commission training annually. Further routine contact and support will be available when attending the office to drop off money and paperwork.
DBS Requirement:
A DBS check is not required for this role.
LFT testing:
A Lateral Flow test will need to be undertaken when visiting the Hospice site.
